Frequently Asked Questions
Will I be contacted by someone regarding my application?
Applications are reviewed on a daily basis and if your education, skills and background are a match for the opening, then you may be contacted for additional follow-up and/or an interview.
How do I check the status of my application?
Due to the high volume of applications received, please allow at least 2 (two) weeks after submitting an application for us to establish the status. A self check feature is available to you upon signing back on to our web site: www.columbia-stmarys.org and logging into the site with your User ID and Password. A yellow box should indicate your status. If there is no message in the yellow box, please note that no decision has yet been established. As much as we’d like to, due to the high volume of applications, please understand that a recruiter is not available to respond to every inquiry.
The system has told me I've reach the maximum number of applications. What does that mean?
Columbia St. Mary's limits the number of applications per individual to 3 in a 60 day period.
How do I bring up a past application and apply it to a new opening?
Once you've submitted an application your information will be stored for easy future access. Upon selecting another posted vacancy/position, select "Apply for This Position", enter your User ID and Password and all previously entered information will populate the fields in the new application. You may edit the fields and we suggest that you review the new application before submitting.
How do I retrieve my password if I don't remember it?
It is important for you to keep your password; however, if you need to you may contact the Human Resources Department at 414-326-2600 for assistance retrieving it.

Do you offer any nursing internships?
We utilize Nurse Technicians. Qualified applicants for these roles are nursing students who have completed at least two adult clinical rotations. Applicants hired into these roles are assigned to specific units and are required to work 20 hours a week and every other week-end/holiday. (We do not offer summer only internships). Nurse Technician positions are normally filled only twice a year. Open positions are posted approximately March and October for hires that will begin in June and December, respectively.
Do you offer internships outside of Nursing?
Columbia St. Mary's proudly partners with schools to help students achieve their educational goals. We are committed to providing quality and meaningful field placement to motivated students to help inspire and enhance their learning experience, in hopes they might become part of Columbia St. Mary's vision and future.
In order to participate in student programs at Columbia St. Mary's, all students interested in internships must go through their School Education Coordinator/Advisor. Individual student calls will not be accepted.
